The hero of US Airways Flight 1549: Pilot Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger III. He is a captain for US Airways and has been flying for more than 40 years (safetyreliability.com photo).
I was in the middle of taking a deposition yesterday, and one of the attorneys stops the proceedings and holds up his Blackberry. US Airways Flight 1549 going to Charlotte just crashed into the Hudson River! Everyone in that conference room in Charlotte, N.C., knew there was a possibility we would know someone on that flight.
