If you could see Charlotte in 2015, what would you do to make a difference?
Set in the year 2015, “Crossroads Charlotte: The Movie” lays out four scenarios for the Queen City. The objective? To set our community into action today.Started four years ago by the Foundation for the Carolinas and the Community Building Initiative, it is the goal of Crossroads Charlotte to encourage all of us to make our city a better place. In the first scenario, “Fortress Charlotte,” gangs run rampant and homeless shelters are busting at the seams. In “The Beat Goes On,” Charlotte hasn’t changed much from 2009. Another business has shut down. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. In “Class Act,” Charlotte’s financial sector is, once again, at the top of its game, and our schools are showing marked improvement in test scores.”Eye to Eye” portrays a kinder, less racially divisive city, and ends with a television reporter announcing that Charlotte is on the short list to host the 2024 Olympics. The movie will be shown for free from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 3 at six area locations. So, what are you going to do to make a difference in the Queen City?
