About Janet

JANET COOPER HAAS became a writer when she penned her first piece of fiction at five years of age. She made it “official” when she earned her B.S. in mass communications in 1993, with a concentration in broadcast management.The former Charlotte Observer columnist enjoys telling inspiring stories of people and nonprofit organizations making a difference in her community. She writes regularly for several regional print publications.

In partnership with dynamic Web and graphic designers, Janet also helps businesses market themselves by creating innovative content for their Web sites and promotional materials.

In addition to writing, since July 2009, Janet has served as the community and media relations representative for Birthday Blessings, a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit organization that celebrates the lives of homeless children.

She is also a Registered Professional Reporter certified by the National Court Reporters Association.

Janet is married to her high school sweetheart, and they reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, with their two young sons.
